Well, there’s no escaping it now! Trees are decorated, lights are up, and the kids are getting more excited by the day. What a quick year this has been - it feels like we blinked in February and suddenly it’s October! Some days in-store are just as hectic, organising donations and events until I feel like I’ll meet myself coming backwards!
As usual, we’ve had hundreds of requests for help with Halloween parties, Christmas fetes, and festive activities. Donations have gone to St Thomas Primary, Barlanark Family Learning Centre, Glasgow Athletic 2010, Tollcross Matters, and St Andrews Secondary School, among others. Please remember all donation requests must be submitted in writing, either dropped off in-store or emailed to glasgowshettleston.community@tesco.com.
A huge thank you to everyone supporting the Poppy Appeal - your generosity is outstanding! Our Crafty Dafties have also been busy, donating £150 each to Eastmuir Primary, Quarrybrae Primary, The Whiterose Centre, and Aultmore Park Autism Unit, and £100 to Lambhill Stables, bringing their total contributions for 2025 to £2,000.
Halloween was extra fun this year with a pink-and-white inflatable unicorn roaming the store, handing out sweeties and goody bags - yes, that was me inside the costume!
As 2025 ends, my hair may be a little greyer, my feet a little sorer, but my heart is fuller than ever. Thank you to our customers and staff - your kindness is truly the best. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
