Tesco Parkhead Extra Community Update August 2021

by Susan Wilson, Community Champion

Such a busy month for us as always. Our blue tokens are back, which you can use to vote for our Tesco Community Grant winners. You can find our units in front of the checkouts, where you can deposit tokens. Until September, customers can vote for: Bluevale Community Club, Church House Bridgeton, or The Mungo Foundation.

We have a permanent feature collection point in store for Glasgow North East Foodbank, and our surplus foods are picked up every evening by various charities in our community. Recently, we’ve had our biannual food drive which took place over three days. Our generous customers and colleagues donated 153 boxes of food and toiletries that will go to people struggling in the east end. Thank you to Linda, Catherine, and all the fabulous volunteers from the foodbank who packed and delivered boxes. As always, donations were topped up by 20% by Tesco.

I’d love to give thanks to Willie from Alba Engineering and The Emmie Smillie Charity. They donated £500 each towards #growwithsuzietesco to help create gardens in over 25 schools and nurseries, homeless shelters, and community groups.

To earn 25 Clubcard points and be entered in a draw to win £1000, tell us about your visit to our store at www.tescoviews.com. The code is 6383.
