Morrisons Baillieston Community Update

This month, the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital put out a call for knitted hats for newborns. The Knit and Natter group at St Andrew’s Church kindly donated three big bags of hats and jackets for the babies, which I delivered on their behalf. I also handed over donations of tea bags and biscuits for the hard-working staff - hopefully they were enjoyed!

Donations of tea bags and biscuits also went to Bealach House and Muirhead Road Day Centre, both in Baillieston. We hope these were appreciated by staff and visitors alike.

Garrowhill Primary received donations of flour, sugar, and butter, which they used to make shortbread for their Macmillan Coffee Morning. Carmyle Primary received bottled water, helping every child stay hydrated throughout the day. Bargeddie Primary was gifted tubs of sweets for raffle prizes at their fun day - a great success enjoyed by all.

Can you believe our Baillieston store celebrates 30 years this year? First as Safeway and then, in 2005, as Morrisons. A special shout-out goes to Fiona (left), who has worked here since the Presto days - an amazing 40 years of service. Thank you for all your hard work, Fiona.

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about our work this month, and thank you for your continued support.
