We’ve been very busy recently supporting our local community groups, nurseries and schools. We spent a lot of time transforming Bridgeton Family Learning Centre nursery as their grounds had no flowers or plants and looked very tired.
With the help of teams of volunteers from We Are With You Glasgow NE and The Urban Fox Programme we painted walls, planters and steel containers. We created a sensory pathway, patio area and raised beds with vegetables and perennials and planted lots of fruits trees and plants including apples, pear, plums, oranges, raspberries. We added 2 x 10ft bamboo trees to an area with lots of plants designed to attract wildlife.
This was a fantastic team effort with funds coming from our community library to purchase tree-shaped mirrors and giant flower-shaped blackboards.
Thanks to our partnership with Jewson, B&Q, Dulux paints, Johnstones Paints and The Range for the very generous donations. They’ve helped make the garden a pleasant place to visit for play and learning.
