Make A Difference For Young People In Your Community

Could your hour a week ignite the vital spark in a young person?

MCR Pathways is an award-winning, relationship-based mentoring programme, working in high schools across the East End of Glasgow to level the playing field so all young people can achieve their ambitions. The programme is looking for members of the community to register and support a young person at a high school nearby.

Mentoring builds confidence, instils belief and expands future horizons. The impact is life-changing: 75.6% of mentored care-experienced young people achieved a Level 5 qualification last year, compared to 45.6% of their peers nationally.

Mentoring is also incredibly rewarding for the mentor. Supporting someone to reach their full potential increases a mentor’s confidence and purpose; 89% report a deep sense of personal fulfilment.

You don’t need to have all the answers; you simply need to be there. By listening and encouraging, you help a young person believe in themselves.

“Mentoring is such an amazing experience for our young people and is so important in guiding them to become the best versions of themselves today and in the future,” says David, Pathways Coordinator at Eastbank Academy.

Could you help a young person in your local community spark their potential?
