Boo! A Day of Fun and Frights

It was a spooktacular Halloween in Baillieston Main Street again this year! The Baillieston Community Spirit team brought their friendly ghost, Boo, and his dog, Baillie, back to Baillieston, and over 1,000 kids took part in the ghost trail.

T9 Studios was the starting point where kids picked up a map. Local charity East End Empowering Stars were there with Halloween crafts and games for the excited kids before they began their trail along Main Street.

Twenty-two shops participated by decorating their stores and shop windows and dished out sweet treats to all the scary monsters (and Jokers, cowgirls, and skeletons).

Dressed in costume and accompanied by their families (it was great to see some adults and dogs in costume too) the children strolled along the Main Street looking for Boo in the shop windows and picking up treats along the way.

Batman made his way from Gotham to Pop ‘N’ Tee, Baillieston to greet the children and there was a wonderful Wizard of Oz scene at Londis Solo Convenience with owners Natalie and Martin and their family in full costume.

The children had a chance to win many wicked prizes, all donated by local businesses.

Local charity Community of Helping Hands hosted the finishing table in Morrisons where they dished out more treats and accepted the completed maps from all the spooky and scary children.

The Community Spirit team is already hoping next year will be even more ghoulishly good fun.
