It is 1st June 2007. Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ is at number one in the charts. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End tops the box office chart. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister. Social media was becoming big business, with Bebo being the most used. But - more importantly - Hoolit Glasgow East was launched!
Although it was originaly named, rather blandly, The Directory, it was the beginning of our wee local magazine. The first issue consisted of 16 pages and was delivered to just 5,000 homes. This issue has 56 pages and we now print 22,000 copies of each edition!
Special mention to our longest standing advertiser - plumber, Jim Currens - who has been with us for the whole 15 years! Great to see we’re both still going strong, Jim! 👍
We want to send a huge thanks to all our advertisers, past and present, who helped us get here. We hope we’ve helped their businesses too. Just as important is everyone who has used the services of all the local, mostly small businesses who advertise with us. Thank you for keeping it local. 👏
