Friends of Barlanark & Springboig Greenspaces is a fairly new group formed in May 2021 with the aim of bringing back some life to the green spaces in our area. We would like to promote liveable neighbourhoods that are litter-free and nice for people to live in.
In the short space of time since we formed, we have become constituted and hosted community litter picks as well as being instrumental in the moving forward of improvements to Budhill Playpark, and the inspection and proposed removal of Barlanark outdoor gym which will be replaced with wildflowers and picnic benches.
We are seeking to secure areas for community growing and have secured a site for tree planting as well as planning a Gruffalo trail for younger kids in Barlanark and funds for this have been secured.
We are looking for more volunteers to join our group who are enthusiastic about improving the area they live in and of course, don’t mind getting their hands dirty.
