It’s been a busy month for us. We joined forces with Shettleston Community Growing Project to make the outdoor space at Lochview Nursery fun and welcoming. This included painting planters and the development of a small sensory area. This area has beautiful herbs, small fruit trees, and juicy berry bushes. Hopefully, next year, the children will be able to pick fruit and use them for cooking at the nursery. Thanks to Kenny and everyone who helped out. We are also looking for help to finish painting at Sandaig Nursery- look out for pictures!
For Mental Health Awareness Week we brightened up our store! I contacted Glasgow Association for Mental Health and explained that I would be raising funds for them, as well as our three partner charities. The charities supplied us with pens, earphones, and a few other items as well as leaflets. We had a great weekend, raising a total of £540.45 for fantastic mental health charities.
Hopefully, our community room will reopen soon. If you are a user of the room, I will be in touch as soon as I am given an official opening date. This room is open for all local groups with public liability insurance. If there is anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to contact me at the store. All requests for donations must be made in writing.
Until next month...let's hope for sunshine!
