May kicked off with a visit from Cancer Research UK who checked BMIs and offered information on quitting smoking and getting healthy. Come and say hello on their next visit!
Staff were working hard to get everyone voting for the Bags of Help winners. This round includes AEDdonate, Shettleston Community Growing Project and Upbeat Theatre Company. You don’t have to buy a bag to receive a token - get one per transaction at every checkout, including self-service, scan as you shop and customer service.
The store is grateful for the generosity of its fabulous customers who enabled it to help food banks at Carntyne and Riddrie. The food bank service is invaluable to many people, and without donations the doors would need to close. If you’d like to find out more about how you can help, contact the Carntyne & Riddrie Credit Union on 0141 770 8200.
Finally, May was Race for Life month! Community Champion Luzier Jeffrey gave out tokens for people to sign up for free, and she can’t wait to hear how everyone got on at this fantastic event which gets bigger and better every year. If you didn’t take part this time around, aim to get involved next year!
