Tesco Shettleston Extra Community Update December 2020

The Christmas Spirit is alive and well. I have my Christmas tree headband and my coloured lights and I’m ready to sparkle... are you? We sparkled through November with lots of donations!

Bottles of sun cream went to Lochview Nursery, Sandaig Nursery, Lamlash Nursery, Beechwood Nursery and to Community of Helping Hands. Further donations went to the Parent Council at Mount Vernon Primary, Quarriers at Ruchazie, Aultmore Park Primary, Glasgow Life, St Andrews Secondary, Smithycroft Secondary and Easthall Park Youth Group.

We had our poppy appeal in association with Poppy Scotland. It was very different this year as we had to leave the poppy table unmanned however we still raised just over £900 in Shettleston and I would like to say thank you to everyone who contributed. A massive thanks also to the children in Thorntree Primary and Fuse Junior Youth Group whose artwork brightened up our store during the poppy appeal.

Lastly, we held our food collection for Fareshare and Trussell Trust. This year, more than ever, these organisations have helped people up and down the UK. Remember Tesco tops up all these donations with 20% cash.
