What a month it has been in Tesco Shettleston! The last round of Bags of Help winners was announced and Community Champion, Luzier was delighted to visit them to present their cheques. The first visit was to The Dash Club, an after school service for children with learning difficulties where she was shown the trampoline the group’s award of £3880 will go towards buying and maintaining.
Then she visited Greater Easterhouse Alcohol Awareness Project (G.E.A.A.P) who were awarded £2000 to be used to help empower women in the area and Ruchazie Housing Association who were awarded £1000 to be used for wild planting in the children’s play area. Luzier would like to thank every customer who votes - this is so important to the store and the groups.
There was fundraising in the store for Downs Syndrome Scotland, Cancer Research and Brain Tumour Research. A huge thanks to everyone who donated to make a combined total of £646.55. Other activities in the store this month included making sock puppets, which was a fantastic afternoon with loads of laughs!
The store bookcase is a great way to raise funds for charity. If you have any books that you no longer want please drop them off at the store for people to buy at a suggested minimum donation of 50p per book.
