Tesco Parkhead Extra community update March 2020

I’ll start by thanking all the customers who handed in warm clothing, which was donated to The Halliday Foundation Street Team, All2gethernow Street Team and Destiny Church and local families. Kids warm jackets were donated to local schools and nurseries.

I supported Onslow Drive and Westercraigs nurseries with the Big Garden Birdwatch at Reidvale Community Allotment and we had a visit from Bridgeton Family Learning Nursery who had great fun on a fruit and veg hunt adventure!

Donations of tea, coffee and arts and crafts materials went to Playbusters for their new seniors group.

Pictured below is a student from Glasgow Kelvin College receiving donations for their leadership project, in conjunction with Destiny Church, as they aim to help homeless people in Glasgow.

We went along to St Mungo’s Academy’s job fair where we spoke about our community work and donated bottled water, fruit and raffle prizes.

Thank you for all your book donations which have helped us raise £300 for Onslow Drive Day Nursery allotment. Sales from the charity bookcase will now go to Bridgeton Family Learning Centre Nursery to create an outdoor learning and vegetable growing area.

Would you be interested in helping with the transformation? Can you paint or build raised beds or could you get a team of workmates together and volunteer for a day to help your community?
