Tesco Parkhead Extra Community Update July 2020

It has been another challenging and very busy month for Tesco Parkhead. Lots of work has been going on behind the scenes to support vulnerable families and the elderly in our local community. Our surplus foods are being distributed to Community of Helping Hands in Baillieston, Garnethill Multicultural Centre, Olio, Netherholme Community Centre and Carbrain Carers. This can include fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, bread, cakes and tinned food.

We donated fruit and tinned food to the Halliday Foundation in Bridgeton who not only help homeless people but local people referred by housing associations who are in need of food, clothing and household items. If you can help they are located at 3 Arrol Place, Bridgeton G40 3NY.

My ‘oot ‘n’ aboot in the community’ days have included giving a helping hand to Westercraigs Nursery to get their outdoor garden/learning area ship shape. I’m also enjoying doing the outdoor crafts with some of the children.

Thanks for your continued support by donating foods for Glasgow NE Foodbank. You’ll find the donation bin at the front of the checkouts.

Our Community Library is up and running again with donations from the sale of books helping local organisations. Please donate your unwanted books and we’ll put them to good use.
