We would like to send our gratitude to every person, family, school or business that donated food and toiletries during our additional food collection in response to Covid-19 for The Glasgow NE Foodbank in Calton. They also helped support outreach centres in Bridgeton, Parkhead and Shettleston.
As the focus for schools and nurseries is outdoor play, I am continuing my work with Westercraig Nursery helping in the garden and doing outdoor arts & crafts with the children. Thanks to Jewson and Johnstone’s Decorating Centre for donations.
We have donated compost and plants to Westercraigs and Parkhead Community Nurseries, St Thomas’ Primary School and Bridgeton Family Learning Centre. Thanks to Councillor Allan Casey who came along and helped us with the painting.
The Tesco Bags of Help Covid-19 Communities Fund makes application quicker and easier. A single payment of £500 went to The Lodging House Mission at the Barras, Peek Project Bridgeton, Urban Fox Programme Parkhead, Bridgeton Community Learning Campus, Church House Bridgeton, Glasgow East Women’s Aid Easterhouse and Carntyne & Riddrie Credit Union Foodbank.
Our community bookcase has supported donations to Help the Homeless Glasgow, The Halliday Foundation, Carntyne Credit Union and Glasgow NE Foodbank.
I was delighted to be a guest of honour at the Westercraigs Nursery children’s graduation.
