Tesco Parkhead Extra Community Update April 2021

March has flown by and it’s been a busy month for us.

Thank you for the fantastic drawings that were entered for World Book Day. We had winners from Golfhill, Riverbank, St. Anne’s, Elmvale, and St. Michael’s Primary and Whitehill Secondary School.

Our gardening project #growwithsuzietesco has 22 local schools and nurseries signed up for veggie and flower growing. We received fantastic support from our partnership with B&Q, from Jason, Marion and Hughie. I have been giving a helping hand at schools and nurseries every week to create new veg beds, plant bulbs, and sow seeds. Thanks to all the local businesses such as Jewson, The Halliday Foundation, A&S Scaffolding, Broad St Business Centre, and One Below who generously donated.

We donated Easter arts and crafts to Bridgeton Family Learning Centre, Silverdale Nursery, and Rising Star Nursery. Easter eggs were donated to Tollcross Matters for local children, and to Carntyne Community Spirit and St Denis’ Primary for children to donate to those less fortunate. Thanks to Carntyne Credit Union for donating books to our community bookcase and to all our amazing customers who donated.
