Tesco Parkhead took part in ‘Wear a Hat Day’ in aid of Brain Tumour Research. The community team visited local schools and nurseries where the children had designed hats. In total £283 was raised over a weekend of events.
They delivered Easter eggs donated by the store and customers to local nurseries and youth clubs and Community Champion Susan took fruit and vegetables to St Anne's Primary encouraging the kids to swap to healthy food at their break time.
In April, the store ‘turned pink’ and raised over £300 for Cancer Research UK. Thanks to friends, family and local businesses who helped make this a success.
Susan would like to thank everyone who donated shoes and clothes for local school children and Help the Homeless Glasgow. The store continues to donate their surplus food to local organisations and Calton volunteers deliver it to those in need.
