Local Talent Heads To Edinburgh Fringe

The east end’s own Alana Jackson is set to make waves this summer as she brings her debut comedy show to the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

A rising star in the comedy scene, Alana shot to prominence after winning So You Think You’re Funny? in 2024 – one of the UK’s most prestigious comedy competitions.

Her show, running from 30 July to 24 August 2025, draws on her life story: growing up in Glasgow, moving to London, navigating drama school, and her adventures working (and drinking) in pubs. With a gift for storytelling and a knack for vivid characterisation, Alana’s comedy is as heartfelt as it is hilarious.

Critics have been quick to take note. Chortle described her winning routine as “relatable and witty, told with impact and flair,” while Fest praised her delivery, likening it to “a good friend down the pub.”

Catch this homegrown talent at the Fringe before she’s selling out arenas – tickets range from £9 to £13, and the show is suitable for ages 14 and up. It runs for 60 minutes – just enough time to fall in love with Alana Jackson.
