Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day is fast approaching...if your old man doesn’t need any more socks or ties and you’re struggling to think of somewhere different to take him, here are our ideas for some of the best ways to celebrate on the 16th of June without leaving the east end…

Treat him to a meal in Kastriot’s Mediterranean Bar and Grill, recently voted Best Family Restaurant at the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards.

Go and see a big blockbuster at Cineworld Parkhead. Click here to see the latest releases.

Chill out in the sauna and steam room at the Refresh Spa in the Emirates Arena (sure to help even the grumpiest dad relax!).

Visit a local brewery and enjoy some samples…the Tennent’s Story Heritage Centre at the Wellpark Brewery is the UK’s largest beer attraction, and the brewery offers a range of tours and beer tasting masterclasses. Drygate Brewing Co and West Brewery also run tours, and both serve food if your dad deserves an extra treat (or needs to soak up all those testers!)

Take him for a tipple (or two, just don’t tell mum) in one of the many friendly local pubs. You’ll get a warm welcome in The Clachan Bar in Barrachnie or The Argyle in Baillieston!

If your dad likes a laugh, visit Hoolit Gifts in Baillieston or shop online at www.hoolitgifts.co.uk for something a bit quirky and different.

Finally, if he needs to work off all that food and drink, get him to swap his slippers for his running shoes and head into the great outdoors; try ambling through Alexandra Park, sprinting round Seven Lochs or trekking through Tollcross Park.
